MANAGING DIRECTOR, GHANA : GARETH TOWNLEY

Gareth Townley is Managing Director of Eaton Towers Ghana.

Gareth has over 15 years’ of leadership experience in African telecoms.Prior to joining Eaton Towers in 2012, Gareth was CEO at Viasat Broadcasting from 2008 to 2011. Previously Gareth was CEO for Millicom’s cellular businesses in Sierra Leone and Ghana from 2003 to 2007.

 

 

 

 

MANAGING DIRECTOR, EAST AFRICA : SOBAN PASHA

Soban Pasha is the Managing Director East Africa responsible for operations in Kenya and Uganda, with over 20 years of experience in telecom, with last 16 years as CEO in various countries in Africa.

Prior to joining Eaton Towers, worked as country CEO for a number of opcos in Millicom, followed by Orascom in Nepal and Namibia and American Towers in Ghana. Specializes in startups (including ATC Ghana), turnaround and driving growth with proven track record during last 15 years. Formerly Board member for Millicom in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Tanzania, Orascom in Nepal and Namibia, American Towers in Ghana and currently Eaton Towers in Uganda and Kenya.

 

 

MANAGING DIRECTOR, BURKINA FASO & NIGER : LAOUALI ADAMOU
Laouali Adamou is the Managing Director of Eaton Towers for Burkina Faso and Niger.

He has 19 years of experience in the Telecoms Industry with Celtel ( now Airtel), Telecel ( now Moov) and SahelCom (now Niger Telecom). He has a good knowledge of many African markets where he worked for Multinationals at senior management positions. Prior to joining Eaton Towers, Laouali was Managing Director of SahelCom and was honored with international and national recognition and awards for his performances and contributions.

 

 

 

 
DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR, UGANDA : JIM BURNS
Jim Burns is Deputy Managing Director for Eaton Towers Uganda.

He has over 30 years experience in telecom operations, startups and projects and has worked throughout Africa for the past 18 years. Jim has worked across various sectors within telecoms in his native country Australia and then throughout Western Europe and Africa. He has held executive and senior management positions in technical operations, planning, regulatory and commercial operations.Jim has worked for Eaton Towers since its first operation in Ghana where he helped develop and manage technical operations for Eaton Towers Ghana and most recently oversaw the acquisition of Kenya Towers (Airtel) and was responsible for developing the startup operations for Eaton Towers Kenya

 

 

 

 
DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR, BURKINA FASO : JEAN TSHIMPAKA
Jean Tshimpaka is the Deputy Managing Director for Burkina Faso. He was previously Country Manager and Managed Services Chief Operating Officer for Ericsson in Chad. Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Jean Tshimpaka has worked at Ericsson for six years before joining EatonTowers. Prior to Ericsson , Jean Tshimpaka held C level position in various Telecoms companies including Celtel , Zain and Infratech.

Jean Tshimpaka and his family (a wife and five children) moved to Canada from the DRC in 2006. He visits his family in British Colombia every 3 months. Jean Tshimpaka graduated with a degree in electronic engineering from ISTA in DRC. He then received a grant from ITU for two years specialization in Telecoms engineering (spent in both ITU center in DRC and in Geneva). He also studied International Business Management at University of Phoenix and he is currently enrolled in MBA program with University of Cumbria

 

 

 

 
DEPUTY MANAGING DIRECTOR, KENYA : ASHUTOSH SINGH
Ashutosh Singh is the Deputy Managing Director of Eaton Towers Kenya and has around 14 years of experience in the Telecom Infrastructure services industry out of which 12 years has been in the telecom tower leasing space (India and Africa).

Prior to joining Eaton Towers, he was General Manager – Key Accounts for tower lease sales at Airtel Africa (Africa Towers) where he played a significant role in closing tower lease agreements with Safaricom, Millicom, Vodacom and MTN across different Airtel markets in Africa. He successfully led the addition of 1000 plus colocation tenants on the tower portfolio during his tenure at Airtel. He is also the founder member of GTL Infrastructure which is one of the oldest independent tower companies in India. He was also instrumental in closing the first ever tower leasing contract with Vodafone India back in 2007
